These calculators exist to help you learn and check your work, and that shapes what they should and shouldn't be used for.
An educational aid, not an answer machine
The steps are shown on purpose. The point is that you can follow the method and reproduce it on your own, not that you copy a result into an assignment unexamined. If a teacher asks for your work, the work has to be yours.
Verify your own results
The math has been tested with care, but no software is guaranteed error-free, and no calculator knows the exact conventions of your class. Check the result against the method your course teaches before you rely on it.
Conventions vary
Grading is where this matters most. Schools differ on GPA scales, honors and AP weighting, rounding rules and grade cutoffs. The GPA and grade tools use the common conventions, which may not match your school's official policy. For transcripts, applications or anything with consequences, the number that counts is the one your institution calculates.
